About Naya
Our Story
Naya is an ecologically conscious hotel and retreat center in Nosara, Costa Rica with 6 stand alone units. Our hotelcito is a natural refuge, surrounded by local plants, animals and birds.
We treasure and work to protect the beautiful jungle we are located in, just a 5 minute walk from the picturesque Playa Pelada and Lagarta Lodge Wildlife Sanctuary. Our nature-centric ethic has guided the creation of our space and the way we function.
We have responsibility utilized resources provided by the environment to create this beautiful space, and kept all old-growth trees on the property to maintain the jungle canopy overhead, providing safe passage for the troops of monkeys that roam through the area.
Operating as a small hotel and retreat center, our family has been rooted in this area for close to three decades, cultivating deep connections to the land and within the local Costa Rican community. When you stay with us as a guest, a group booking or a retreat, you work with us: a small family devoted to making your time with us as easeful, warm, and memorable as possible.
The experience we offer at Naya comes from the material and values of our own lives–immersion in nature, respect for the environment, creativity, self-work and simplicity. You are warmly invited to experience this extraordinary place and the energy it holds—to step lightly with deep presence.

Nosara
Naya is located in the province of Guanacaste, one of the only 5 Blue Zones in the world. Blue Zones are areas where the population leads longer, healthier and happier lives due to their diet and lifestyle. One needs only to see the stunning coastline of the Nicoya Peninsula and the abundant jungle ecosystem to understand why health and happiness are primary features of the locale.
Our little town, Nosara, is blessed by consistent waves year round, which have made it into a center for surfing and wellness culture. We live in a vibrant community that treasures this natural paradise.
Naya is tucked into the low-key beach neighborhood of Playa Pelada, in a quiet pocket of lush jungle just a short path away from the ocean. This setting offers a true immersion in nature & direct, easy access to the beach. With Nosara’s lively hub, Playa Guiones, about 15 minutes away, you get the best of all worlds: genuine jungle seclusion, a walkable sunset paradise and close proximity to the restaurants, cafes, and buzz of town.
